Rules of the road trip

You really get to know people's true personalities when you spend 24/7 with them, especially if you're cooped up in a little car for most of the time. For this reason it's important to consider the people you intend to travel with. If it's a good friend or a boyfriend or girlfriend, it can either be a great holiday or your worst ever. If you know that they get on your nerves and that you usually bicker a lot, then it's probably best not to launch into a lengthy trip on the road in order to preserve your friendship or relationship. It is also important to respect the person who is driving, no matter who they are or how long they are driving for. Remember, they are ultimately in control of your life, so try to make sure there is always someone awake to keep them company, and on the other hand that you don't get too rowdy and distract them. If you can't agree on the type of music, the driver always has the last word. And if they tell you to shut up or to wake up, then you're probably best doing what they say!

Follow this advice and hopefully it will give your road trip a good start. The way that you travel is completely up to you so work out where you want to go and how you want to do it and then you'll have the holiday of a lifetime!
